Jimmy Choo Cruise Collection: Lace, Neon, Plateau and Cork
It’s cruise collection time! This period “in between” collections always tempts us with a look into what’s to come and gives us a distinct summer feeling and urge to wear airy shoes even though evil January weather restrains us from adorning our feet with these beauties.
One cruise collection which particularly caught my eye is by Jimmy Choo.
Why? Well up until this point I am not aware of any other cruise collection whit integrates so many different trends.
Evil tongue would say that Jimmy Choo couldn’t quite decide on which trend line to follow. Maybe, but more importantly: it seems to work!
Trend 1: Fluorescent colors
Jimmy Choo combines the neon trend with black. A classic so to speak: in the 80’s this combination was most common amongst the fluorescent mixes. I personally prefer neon colors to be combined with soft pastels which tend to take the edge off a little.
Trend 2: Plateau and natural materials
The 70’s are also back this summer and that does not only entail plate skirts and silk scarves but also cork heels. Jimmy Choo decided to take this up in his cruise collection and presents plateau sandals with cork wedges, heels and soles. A little more creative experiment could have been of an advantage here: the shoes are very close to the originals of the 70’s but that is defiantly not to say that they are bad!
Trend 3: Lace
Here Jimmy Choo lived out his creativity to a certain extent: the elegant material is not only found in black, but also in beige and fluorescent colors. And this is where I found my favorite Jimmy Choo’s for this season: the black filigree lace booties.
This goes to show that even though I always find some “buts” when it comes to Jimmy Choo, there is always something stunning: no wonder Jimmy Choo is one of the world’s most popular shoe labels.
