Fashion Week Milan: Glamorous Gucci Spring 2011 Collection
At the Milan Fashion Week the possibly most glamorous spring collection so far was presented by Gucci. Bright colours, valuable materials and great lines make up the collection by Frida Giannini.
Pictures by Guy Bourdin, David Bailey and Chris von Wangenheim from the 70’s inspired her usage of these rich and bright colours.
Other pieces from the collection were greatly influenced by the Marrakesh style: colours that might as well have come straight from a vast selection of warm and exotic spices. Golden belts, tassels and colour coordinated stilettos with golden ankle straps brought the outfits to perfection creating and exotic glam-look.
The next pieces from the collection were kept in soft naturals, gold and mustard nuances making the line more subtle but the perfect cut, intricate details and great styling made these outfits very alluring.
Tassels, fringe and crochet details of the Gucci Spring 2011 collection were used in such a professional and creative way that you are in no way reminded of handicraft lessons but rather extravagant appearances at red carpet events.
The key pieces of the Gucci spring collection are the elegant jodhpurs and harem pants, silky jumpsuits, tulip skirts with his waists and intricately processed dresses.
All I can say to Frida Giannini is: Well done, I’m impressed.
