About
In every circle of friends there is an expert for a certain topic: the mother of three is asked on kids issues, the mother-in-law for recipes and the fashion-conscious friend for advice on clothes. The advice of these “experts” is personal, and hence priceless.
The edelight lifestyle magazine offers these private experts a platform, and people seeking advice a source of personal tips. The edelight magazine adds both personal advice and background information to personal product recommendations.
Since autumn 2006 edelight has been a website entirely dedicated to the idea of social shopping. edelight records 2.0 million visitors per month. 70 percent of edelight users are female. Over 1.300.000 product recommendations and over 500 partner shops are at their disposal. The recommendations on edelight stem from over 8000 international online shops. Hence, edelight is not only one of the first, but also the largest of its type in Germany.

Already at the tender age of 12 I knew: I love fashion and simply have to turn my passion into a carrier. After many years of being a designer, trend scout and fashion illustrator I discovered my desire to write and I found the perfect medium for this in my blog. Here, all fashionistas can read about and be part of my finds, my favourite labels and collections and many other things that inspire. The fascinating thing about fashion is that there is no such thing as a standstill. Well-tried fashion pops up again, constantly developing and bearing a new signature touch. There are so many innovative and creative people who are always creating something new, giving us constant inspired input. Fashion never ends…

As a teenager I grew wearing my baggy pants and skater shoes. Now; in my twenties, I still prefer comfortable looks and outfits, but in a more fancy way. That’s why I appreciate the urban chique of Streetwear, which combines casual clothing with trendy accessories. Streetwear is affected by different influences of music, culture and art. This is expressed in its individual style, but also in its diversity and richness. Retro shirts, colourful sneakers and accessories look great in combination with casual jeans and cardigans.

In any rightly arranged outfit, the importance of the shoes is equal to the sum of the importance of the garments. Bags on the other hand can make you happy very easily. They are always right size.
Following this veritable logic, it behooves me to write about shoes and bags. So this is what I’ve done since 2008 - everyday. Enjoy!

A Chanel handbag from 1980, a genuine Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk from 1920, or a silver bracelet with mysterious engravings, that’s what makes my heart run wild. But to be honest, the real problem is my right hand trying to gain control over this little thingy stuck to my laptop. Mouse and screen are the two key instruments when I go for a vintage shopping stroll. To pick up the best finds, I don’t tour flee markets on Saturdays at the crack of dawn. Instead, you can spot me sprawled on the couch in front of my laptop, my right hand in control of the mouse, my left hand navigating a cookie or a tea cup. Yes, I’m an online vintage shopaholic. So, the shoes, bags, dresses and stuff you’ll see here won’t be restricted to one single city, country or language. To report on global vintage shopping, I don’t shy away from any border but browse through the most remote online shops and auctions.

I couldn’t really pick out what I like most about fashion and with the vast choice the internet has given us, why should I? Fashion and lifestyle are connected in so many wonderful ways.
I like my clothes and accessories to be just that little bit different. Back when I was younger and started experimenting with different looks (it didn’t always work out, believe you me).
Now, being a little older, I try to pick out little extravagant pieces to polish off a day to day outfit, like my silver pocket watch with the black widow engraved on the front (possibly influenced by my love of Rock Music, old and new).
So I like my looks; be it fashion, furniture or decoration, to have a special touch. Sometimes charming and sweet and other times extravagant and cool. Personality is key.

Trends, models, designers – you name it – on my Styling Blog I love to share my view on the fashion world with you.
When I’m not blogging, I love to travel around the world, preferably with a coffee, my camera and a fashion magazine in my hands.

My name is Sabine and my three „men“ keep me quite busy 24/7. The two youngsters really are all about toys and the “big” one is much the same, despite the age difference. Our kids’ bedroom resembles a land of milk and honey.
Considering the numerous toys being produced it is of great importance to select appropriate toys for kids, age-based, fun to spend time with and; last but not least, valuable for their educational development. This is why I decided to put a greater deal of my time into the issue of toys and take a step back from my original profession of cartography and geomatics.
